We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Registered Nurse in our Opioid Dependency Program, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals struggling with addiction.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with opioid use disorder, including medication preparation and dispensing
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on addiction treatment and recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Conduct post-consumption monitoring and assess for adverse effects
- Provide case management and daily engagement with program participants
- Participate in training and dispensing of Naloxone kits as part of the Community Naloxone Program
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Expert knowledge of co-occurring health needs (addiction and mental health)
- Knowledge and experience using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V)
- Employer-provided training in Suicide Risk Management and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those with addiction and mental health concerns
- Previous experience with Opioid Agonist Treatment provision and Suspected Opioid Poisoning response, including Naloxone administration
- Completed Ambulatory Connect Care training
