About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as an Assistant Director of Care and Quality Improvement at Hawthorne Seniors' Care Community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support internal and external communications in the absence of the Director of Care.
  • Implement and evaluate quality improvement projects to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
  • Assess education needs of staff and coordinate on-site and off-site learning opportunities.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance communication, knowledge, and skills.
  • Support nurses to work to their full scope and to be continuously learning and growing.
  • Provide ongoing support for families.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
Requirements
  • Current practicing membership in BCCNM as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Advanced preparation in gerontological nursing. 5 years of experience working in Long-Term Care. Five years of gerontology experience with at least two years working at a supervisory level OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare or senior living setting.
  • First Aid / CPR.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to support residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to evaluate current training/education needs.
  • Proficient in RAI/MDS assessments, submission, and corrections.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Point Click Care and POC.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to manage conflict.
