About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as an Assistant Director of Care and Quality at Hawthorne Seniors' Care Community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Quality Improvement
    • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of life for residents.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Care to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Education and Training
    • Assess education needs of staff and coordinate on-site and off-site learning opportunities.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance communication, knowledge, and skills.
  • Staff Support and Development
    • Support nurses to work to their full scope and to be continuously learning and growing.
    • Provide ongoing support for families.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Current practicing membership in BCCNM as a Registered Nurse.
    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Advanced preparation in gerontological nursing. 5 years experience working in LTC. Five years gerontology experience with at least two years working at a supervisory level OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills to support residents, families, and staff.
    • Ability to prioritize daily tasks.
    • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
    • Ability to evaluate current training/education needs.
    • Proficient in RAI/MDS assessments, submission, and corrections.
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Point Click Care and POC.
