Lead Development Miner Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with fellow team members, the Development Supervisor adheres to operational protocols and will execute one or more of the following tasks during demolition, rehabilitation, and construction within an existing Transfer Station and conveyor setup in the Conveyor Ramp:
    • Receive directives from the Shift Supervisor to manage daily ground control tasks
    • Monitor progress and report to the Shift Supervisor on daily, weekly, and monthly footage and volume metrics
    • Assess existing underground headings to ensure a safe work environment and that assigned tasks can be performed safely and according to design specifications
    • Utilize scaling bars, pneumatic handheld drills, cutting and welding tools, and rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as MacLean Bolters, Scoops, Dump Trucks, Jumbo drills, and shotcrete sprayers
    • Install rock bolts, spin cables, and screens using Maclean Bolters and handheld drills
    • Conduct mucking operations
    • Install services and ventilation systems
    • Perform other related duties as assigned


General Duties:

  • Ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence to company policies while complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other local regulations
  • Possess the authority and responsibility to uphold a safe and efficient working environment
  • Actively support and engage in the team safety program focused on culture and innovation
  • Ensure that any equipment identified as damaged or unsafe due to defects, or any machinery with inoperative protection systems, is not utilized and reported to the supervisor
  • Collaborate closely with other team members to foster the synergy necessary to complete the shift tasks
  • Guarantee that all applicable procedures and work standards for tasks are understood, followed, and complied with at all times
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the workplace
  • Utilize all safety systems as outlined in the site safety management framework

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical assessments
  • Criminal Record Check (if applicable)
  • Completion of Basic Underground Common Core training
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • CWB Certification is considered an asset

Skills and Qualifications:

  • WHMIS Certification
  • Fall Arrest Training
  • First Aid Certification
  • Working at Heights Certification
