Minerals Business Development Lead

Position Overview: The Wood Minerals & Metals (M&M) division is in search of a dedicated Business Development Manager. As an integral part of a global team of business development experts, the selected candidate will oversee the M&M business development initiatives aimed at fostering relationships with Wood's M&M clientele and securing new consulting, study, and project EP/EPCM opportunities.
Location: This role will be situated in Toronto and may necessitate both domestic and international travel to fulfill customer, opportunity, and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a pertinent engineering, finance, or business field from a recognized Institute of Technology.
- Bring 7-10 years of relevant business development experience with a reputable EP/EPCM organization; a combination of business development and project execution experience will be considered, with at least 4 years specifically in the mining and minerals sector.
- Demonstrate a robust network of lasting business relationships with clients, prospective clients, and other industry professionals.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of mining & minerals industry technologies, workflows, environments, and local customs from the EPC(M) services perspective; experience from the client side would be advantageous.
- Show sound understanding of commercial, economic, and business matters pertaining to the mining industry, particularly in local target markets.
- Possess exceptional communication, writing, presentation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients and team members.
- Exhibit proven planning, organizational, and data interpretation skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Identify customer needs and desires beyond the specific requests in written RFP/EOI to develop insightful value propositions and recognize opportunities for both the customer and Wood.
- Engage in recognized Mining & Minerals and technical specialty professional organizations as applicable.
- Demonstrate full proficiency in MS Office and familiarity/willingness to utilize Wood's CRM tools.
- Possess strong proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
- Authorization to work legally in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
