Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Service Specialist to join our Commercial Banking team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional client service and support to our clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Onboarding
    • Coordinate the collection of client information and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Support the onboarding process for new clients, including the setup of accounts and services.
  • Client Servicing
    • Provide timely and effective resolution to client service requests and issues.
    • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Credit Support
    • Assist with the preparation and submission of credit-related documents and information.
    • Support the credit review process, including the collection of financial information and analysis.
  • Fulfillment
    • Coordinate with internal partners to ensure loan funding and business account openings are fulfilled as per client expectations.
    • Monitor and report on the progress of various fulfillment requests.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes and client satisfaction metrics.
    • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance client experience.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with client relationships.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College/University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Strong commitment to excellent client service and ability to work with clients to resolve issues.
    • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize multiple requests.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to obtain agreements with internal partners.
    • Strong written and verbal skills with proven ability to engage stakeholders and clients.
    • Good knowledge of onboarding, know your customer, and anti-money laundering processes.
    • Good knowledge of fulfillment processes and roles of internal partners.
    • Thorough knowledge of applicable software and technology platforms.
    • Working knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working Conditions
    • Work in a standard office-based environment.
    • Non-standard hours may be required.
