Job Summary:

Brightshores is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will provide speech and language services to stroke survivors in Grey and Bruce Counties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise in stroke rehabilitation, with a focus on swallowing disorders, cognitive impairment, and communication skills.
  • Conduct client-specific consultations and education/training/in-services for service providers, caregivers, and families.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to deliver innovative rehabilitation services in the client's home and community.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote independence and optimal recovery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in stroke rehabilitation.

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation, with a focus on dysphagia management.
  • Experience in clinical assessment of swallowing and working in a community setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
  • Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to work with and direct support personnel.
  • Appreciation of resource utilization and comfortable working in a virtual environment.
  • Excellent ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and a reliable insured vehicle.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, and multi-site coverage when required.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.

  • ADP Authorizer.
