Facility Operations Manager Position at Black & McDonald
Black & McDonald is seeking a dedicated Facility Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this role involves coordinating and supervising staff and subcontractors operating within various Black & McDonald facilities. Responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and strategic objectives related to facility operations and maintenance
- Managing work orders and coordinating assignments for maintenance staff and contractors
- Collaborating with stakeholders to devise work plans and complete risk assessments and compliance checks
- Ensuring staff training and certifications are up to date and aligned with industry standards
- Performing site walk-throughs and inspections to ensure facilities are safe and well-maintained
- Recommending solutions for operational issues and improving facility efficiency
- Supervising subcontractors and subordinate staff to ensure high-quality work and customer satisfaction
- Participating in customer meetings and audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality assurance programs and regulations
- Mentoring and training reporting staff to improve their skills and knowledge
- Conducting quality assurance checks to ensure facilities meet customer expectations
- And other duties as required to support facility operations and maintenance
Requirements:
- Familiarity with management tools and software packages, including CMMS and BMS systems
- Advanced analytical and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Knowledge of building products, construction details, and regulations to ensure compliance and quality
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to various facilities as required
- University degree or equivalent experience in facilities management or a related field
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in building operations and maintenance
- Trade license and FMP/FMA designation are assets
- Willingness to obtain security clearance and travel as required
