Role Summary:

THP is in search of a Project Manager to become part of the Laboratory Medicine and Genetics Program.

The Laboratory Medicine and Genetics (LMG) program is a comprehensive and intricate initiative that operates across multiple sites, covering various modalities such as biochemistry, microbiology, hematology, transfusion medicine, flow cytometry, anatomical pathology, and specimen collection services. This program handles over 6 million tests annually, with a significant volume of specimens processed daily. A continuous laboratory program is maintained under a robust Laboratory Quality Management System, supporting an active learning environment for all participants.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management and will collaborate effectively with laboratory teams and other clinical and support teams within the organization. Responsibilities will include overseeing strategic initiatives and change management efforts, such as the installation and implementation of new capital equipment, automation systems, and digital management systems. The Project Manager will also engage in site redevelopment and transformation of care models, ensuring alignment with the hospital's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee comprehensive project management for multiple initiatives throughout their lifecycle, ensuring milestones are achieved and quality standards are met.
  • Foster collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders at various levels to build and maintain strong relationships for effective project delivery.
  • Focus on change management and communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and minimize resistance to change.
  • Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and report solutions to all stakeholders, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Manage project budgets and collaborate with finance teams to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Engage with leadership to discuss implementation progress, risks, and strategies for successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, life sciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • A Master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, or business administration is considered an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent, along with Change Management Certification, are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or leading complex change initiatives in healthcare settings is required.
  • Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) projects is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in a public sector or healthcare environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating information and identifying risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
