We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Diagnostic Testing: Conduct a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, ensuring accuracy and quality in all results.
- Interpret and Release Results: Perform, interpret, and release test results, maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.
- Identify and Address Incidents: Identify incidents and non-conformities, participate in the development of effective corrective action plans, and escalate as necessary.
- Assist with Technology Evaluation: Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology to improve laboratory processes.
- Participate in Problem-Solving: Participate in problem-solving and workflow optimization initiatives to improve laboratory efficiency.
Requirements:
- Education and Certification: College diploma or university degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience, and CMLTO registration.
- Communication and Computer Skills: Excellent communication skills and good computer skills, including knowledge of laboratory information systems.
- Problem-Solving and Safety: Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and follow up on issues, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality.
