Job Description

Job Title: Risk Control Consultant or Senior Risk Control Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Control Consultant or Senior Risk Control Consultant to join our team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a key member of our Enterprise Data Governance team, you will play a critical role in owning and managing the Enterprise Data Governance Policy, and adherence to Policy requirements and related processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Enterprise Data Governance team mandate and accountabilities through collaboration with key members of the Chief Data Office (CDO), Enterprise Data and Records Management Office (EDRMO), Risk and control partners across the enterprise, enabling demonstration of data governance oversight and challenge responsibilities to reduce and mitigate Data Risk.
  • Support and assessment of Data Governance execution, Data risk assessment and mitigation understanding, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the enterprise's Data & Records Management practices.
  • Lead the creation and management process for development and continuous improvement of EDRMO data governance policy, standards, procedures, and processes and key controls within EDRMO to ensure a sustainable Enterprise Data Governance Practice.
  • Lead the creation and management of key oversight mechanisms and Controls within EDRMO and across Strategic Business Units and Functional Groups to enable control testing, effective challenge and monitoring of adherence to EDRMO Policy and Standards.
  • Support planned and adhoc development and delivery of program and project work packages relating to Data Governance Adherence and Risk Assessments.
  • Support the data risk assessment processes as required to ensure effective management of data risk as assessed and identified through processes such as Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Technology Triage, and Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA).

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in data governance, data and records management, policy and compliance or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and management best practices and data lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
