Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Join the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) as a Data Governance Specialist and play a crucial role in deploying and promoting the data governance program. This position emphasizes consistent access and use of data, enhancing the visibility of enterprise data assets, and educating business users on best practices for data management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities for data stewardship and ownership within the organization.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of data from creation and storage to archiving and deletion.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability across the organization.
  • Establish policies and controls to protect data from unauthorized access, breaches, and misuse.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Library and Information Sciences, or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum five years' experience working on data governance projects in a cross-functional environment with multiple data sources/repositories.
  • Demonstrated experience developing requirements and working with and implementing data management products and data management best practices.
  • Experience developing requirements and working with data governance and data quality tools such as Azure Purview, Informatica, Altyryx, and Collibra Talend.
