About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our team at BMO Financial Group. As a key member of our Data and Analytics Governance team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing governance objectives to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement governance objectives to support the CM Data Directives, including identification and classification of data assets, centralization of data dictionaries and libraries, and establishment of roles and responsibilities and access hierarchies.
  • Develop and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize data governance initiatives and develop business cases to support these initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to business stakeholders on data governance best practices and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data governance and analytics.
Requirements
  • Typically, between 5 to 7 years of relevant business experience in Finance Department, Operations or Capital Markets OCOO or Front Office.
  • Sound knowledge gained through business experience in change management and business process transformation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Finance, Operations and Capital Markets data sets.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Data driven decision-making.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems.
  • Proven ability to influence at various levels.
