Position Overview

IMAX is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our dynamic Corporate Finance division. This role will report directly to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and will be responsible for various facets of IMAX's corporate accounting, month-end closing, and financial reporting processes. You will collaborate closely with Finance team members and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of timely and precise financial outcomes related to IMAX's primary revenue channels and operational functions. Your expertise will be instrumental in implementing suitable accounting practices and internal controls while providing analytical support to senior leadership for performance evaluation and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high-quality month-end closing process by providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial information for IMAX Corporation, along with any ad hoc analyses requested by management.
  • Analyze and compile month-end financial results, including the preparation of monthly journal entries for various revenue streams and expense categories.
  • Record and prepare monthly accounting entries for the Company's global operations.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, supported by appropriate documentation and audit trails.
  • Prepare quarterly supporting schedules and note disclosures for the Financial Reporting Team in relation to 10-Q and 10-K SEC filings, including Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).
  • Develop quarter-end and year-end working papers for both internal and external auditors in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Professional designation in CPA, CA, or significant progress towards completion.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Financial Analyst or Corporate Accounting role, ideally within a public company environment with exposure to multinational operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP software.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP is advantageous.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt to new business processes in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
