About the Role

Export Development Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Law Clerk to join its Legal Services division. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert support to lawyers and business teams, ensuring the smooth execution of complex transactions and commercial law matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and implement processes and systems to optimize legal services delivery.
  • Prepare and review draft financing documentation, identifying legal issues and providing solutions.
  • Review and comment on external counsel's agreements, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
  • Order, review, and organize corporate and transaction searches, due diligence searches, and security filings.
  • Liaise with clients, customers, and external counsel, providing subject matter expertise as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a legal department or private practice.
  • Advanced knowledge of legal principles and practices as a law clerk.
  • Proficiency in legal tools to perform due diligence searches and complete security filings.
  • Completion of a College Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
