Key Responsibilities- Manage a large portfolio of projects and teams, leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the team.
- Organize solutions to new challenges and drive business results, using best practice PMO methodology to create project plans that meet stakeholders' needs.
- Drive end results through management of portfolio deliverables, meeting time-sensitive deadlines and regulatory mandates.
- Prepare and submit clear and concise activity/progress reports to senior leadership.
- Assess portfolio risk potentials and identify potential problems before they occur.
- Apply a proactive approach to tracking portfolio progress against project goals, defining and enforcing good project management practices.
- Identify and amend the approach to the context and constraints of each project.
- Constantly improve skills and knowledge through lessons-learned reviews throughout the portfolio lifecycle.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to recognize when problems surface or potential problems are looming.
- Articulate problems, bring the right people together to solve problems, and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed.
- Promote partner involvement through effectively communicating project status upward and to the client.
- Apply lessons learned from recent projects to future projects, communicating project milestones, status updates, and any existing or potential customer escalation issues.
- Proactively follow escalation and change control processes.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- 4-6 years of project management experience, preferably from a financial services environment and/or portfolio management experience.
- Possesses knowledge of PPM tools, such as Clarity or Oracle PeopleSoft, and PMP certification is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, Excel, PPT, SharePoint, and MS Project.
- Ability to manage individual and team goals while adhering to multiple deadlines, with knowledge of portfolio and project metrics.
- Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions, and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
- Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time, and risk.
- Manage client expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks, and track them.
