Your Opportunity:

As an Occupational Therapist I in this Inpatient Acute Care role, you will be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team serving clients with diverse needs. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing interventions, and contributing to safe discharge planning. The Allied Health Area Manager and Occupational Therapy Professional Practice Lead will provide support and guidance within a collaborative team environment. You will also have the opportunity to provide clinical direction to Therapy Assistants and participate in clinical placements for Occupational Therapy or Therapy Assistant students.

Description:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evidence-informed services focused on occupational performance to meet the needs of individuals, groups, or communities. You will act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate, functioning as an integral healthcare team member. You will engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop interventions to meet client needs
  • Contribute to safe discharge planning and provide clinical direction to Therapy Assistants
  • Participate in clinical placements for Occupational Therapy or Therapy Assistant students
  • Engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations
  • Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is also required.
