About the Role

The Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto Branch is seeking a skilled Transitional Housing Worker to join our team in the Home for Good Innovative Housing Program. This part-time permanent position will provide on-site residential support and case management services to older adults living with mental illness and experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct service provision and support clients based on their goals
  • Orient clients to programs and services, and provide crisis prevention and interventions as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment
  • Develop and maintain trusting, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues
Requirements
  • Minimum college diploma in Social Work or Social Sciences, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with adults with complex mental health and addictions issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Concurrent Disorders and the Criminal Justice System as it relates to mental health
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and understanding of recovery principles
