Your Role
We are looking for experienced Project Managers who have a proven track record in overseeing intricate projects across various sectors such as Healthcare, Commercial, Retail, Aviation, Transportation, Education, and Justice. This position is available in one of our offices located in Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Management:
    Oversee large-scale and complex projects ensuring client satisfaction, quality deliverables, adherence to schedules, and budgetary goals.
  2. Collaborate with the Project Team and Partners to develop and implement project execution strategies, including work plans, resource allocation, and risk management.
  3. Manage daily operational elements of projects and their scope.
  4. Partner with the assigned principal to uphold technical and design excellence.
  5. Ensure all project documentation, including contracts and service requests, are properly approved and archived in line with Stantec's protocols.

Financial Management:
Regularly update project financials using Stantec's proprietary systems. Manage project budgets and timelines, including tracking team hours and expenses. Analyze revenue recognition and monitor billing rates and utilization targets for project teams. Ensure prompt and accurate invoicing while overseeing receivables and collections.

Communication:
Conduct regular meetings with the team and clients to ensure transparency. Keep the project team informed of any changes or updates. Deliver well-structured presentations both verbally and in writing. Address and escalate issues promptly, while effectively communicating sensitive information.

Leadership:
Guide and motivate project team members. Align project tasks with team capabilities and career aspirations. Identify areas for improvement and propose constructive changes. Stay informed about emerging industry trends and practices. Adhere to and promote Stantec's policies and safety programs.

Collaboration:
Maximize the potential of each team member. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork. Address and resolve conflicts and communication barriers within the team. Recognize and appreciate team contributions consistently. Document lessons learned and share insights with team members and clients.

Technical Expertise:
Possess a solid understanding of core and shell as well as interior design and construction. Stay updated on Stantec's capabilities and seek continuous education opportunities to enhance knowledge.

Client Relations:
Manage daily interactions with clients, ensuring their expectations are met. Seek to enhance client satisfaction and build long-term relationships. Communicate effectively to identify client needs and provide value-added services. Develop a comprehensive understanding of each client's business and objectives.

Business Development:
Identify opportunities for business growth and additional services across all Stantec disciplines related to specific projects or clients. Participate in proposal development, including project scoping and pricing.

Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials

  1. Proven experience in managing large, complex projects across various sectors.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in Alternative Project Delivery models.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  4. Professional designation and/or PMP certification preferred.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in project management, architecture, engineering, interior design, or equivalent professional experience.
