Homes First Society is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Client Programming Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Client Services department, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our clients by designing and implementing programs, outings, and recreational activities based on client feedback.
Key Responsibilities:- Support clients in gathering feedback on desired programs and activities, and design and oversee their implementation and evaluation.
- Collaborate with the peer worker program to achieve their program goals.
- Provide support to clients through socialization, budgeting, activities, programming, referrals, and accessing resources.
- Maintain accurate client records, client notes, and complete reports as required.
- Oversee budgets and resources to operate client programming, outings, and recreational activities.
- Support partnerships operating programming onsite.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance on a regular basis.
- Collect data and statistics on programs, events, and outings, and record attendance and involvement.
- Develop communication strategies to inform clients and staff about programs.
- Work closely with the Client Programming Supervisor and Client Services Department to coordinate events, obtain resources, and volunteers.
- Intervene in crises, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to client emergencies.
- Ensure adherence to Homes First Policy and Procedures, including Harm Reduction Policies.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of experience working with people who are homeless, in social/supportive housing, under-housed, and/or dealing with addictions and mental health.
- Demonstrated experience performing case management functions and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to complete reports and administrative forms.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, standards, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of resources and services available in the community.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and organization skills.
- Certificates in First Aid, CPR, Crisis Prevention, and Intervention an asset.
- Computer literacy, including the ability to access and use various information system tools.
- Able to lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work outside of regular hours occasionally to accommodate activities such as training and events.
