About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Ginza Ichiban Japanese Restaurant. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Food Preparation and Quality Control
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation and ensure that food meets quality control standards.
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare and submit reports on kitchen operations, including sales, inventory, and labor costs.
    • Establish and manage kitchen budgets and cost estimates.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Establish work schedules and ensure that kitchen staff are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or kitchen management role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
