Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Operations Specialist to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for our clients, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank deposits
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitor budget variances
  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with all payroll-related laws and regulations
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information and answer any questions or concerns
  • Assist with year-end tax preparation and liaise with external accountants
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial records
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting and bookkeeping best practices and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or related field
  • Proficient in Quickbooks (online and desktop) and Microsoft Excel
  • Basic understanding of Corporate Tax preparation (T2)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax laws is an asset
