Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Insulation Specialist to join our team at Brock Group. As an Insulation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, fitting, and fabricating insulation materials to a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install insulation materials in accordance with contractor specifications and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and data to determine requirements for insulation installation.
  • Select and apply the correct type and amount of insulation material for specific tasks.
  • Demonstrate a high level of workmanship in installing, fitting, and fabricating insulation materials.
  • Remove or seal old asbestos insulation as required.
  • Sort and organize materials, and count and place orders for materials as needed.
  • Complete safety paperwork, such as FLRA's and Start Cards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years' previous insulating experience.
  • Valid certification from an accredited apprenticeship board (proof of hours may be accepted).
  • CSTS is a minimum safety requirement – other tickets that may be required are OSSA Fall Protection, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Standard First Aid.
  • Ability to work for 8 hours at a time in an environment where temperatures may reach from 0 to 60° C, both indoors and outdoors in the sun.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for 4-7 hours per day; stand or walk for long periods.
  • Able to wear a full-face respirator for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding at extreme heights.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds often and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain footing on surfaces which are sometimes slippery.
  • Ability to see well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to hear well (naturally or with hearing aid).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and supervision.
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and feel objects; and coordinate well the use of hands or fingers and eyes.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
  • Ability to supply a negative Drug & Alcohol Pre-Access test.
Working Conditions

The Insulation Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to severe vibrations and noise levels. The ability to work in confined spaces and at heights is essential. The Insulation Specialist must be able to work in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
