Key ResponsibilitiesThe role of a Physical Scientist 02 involves leading project teams and working groups focused on the execution of departmental initiatives. This includes:
- Analyzing and formulating program strategies and initiatives.
- Preparing detailed analyses, briefings, and reports.
- Delivering presentations and participating in departmental and external committees.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with representatives from various sectors, including government, industry, and community organizations regarding environmental projects.
Education:
Completion of a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with a specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, or another relevant scientific discipline.
Experience:
• Proven experience in preparing, analyzing, and synthesizing technical information related to freshwater quality for scientific or technical documentation.
• Experience in participating in multidisciplinary or multi-jurisdictional environmental management programs or projects.
Knowledge:
• Understanding of freshwater quality and aquatic ecosystems, including regional freshwater issues in major Canadian watersheds.
• Familiarity with federal and provincial policies, legislation, and agreements concerning Canadian freshwater ecosystems.
Abilities:
• Proficient in written and oral communication.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize and provide recommendations.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
