About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Rough Carpenter to join our team at CANERA HOMES INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of our homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Construction: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • On-Site Work: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a seamless finish.
  • Project Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, instruct apprentices, and estimate costs and materials to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Construction, various locations, renovation, commercial, and residential settings.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, large workload, physically demanding, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, work term: permanent, work language: English, and hours: 30 hours per week.
