We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Svend Nielsen Ltd. as a key member of our production department.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Woodworking Equipment: Safely operate and maintain a range of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
- Wood Surface Preparation: Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files, to achieve precise and smooth finishes.
- Plan and Execute Projects: Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made, and execute projects with attention to detail and quality.
- Assembly and Finishing: Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units, and reinforce joints to ensure stability and durability. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, and prepare and apply laminated plastics as required.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company health and safety standards and protocols.
- Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma required; 5 years or more of experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
- Certifications and Licenses: Not required.
- Financial Benefits: Group insurance benefits, permanent work term, 40-43 hours per week, and work language: English.
