About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Allwood Industries Ltd. as a key member of our custom cabinet shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a range of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Design and prepare specifications for custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and meet client requirements.
  • Shape and finish wood surfaces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
  • Study plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate production of articles.
  • Assemble and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Apply finishes, such as varnish, veneer, stain, or polish, to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a custom cabinet shop or millwork environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment required.
