Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Analyst to enhance our security and compliance framework. As the inaugural member of our compliance team, you will collaborate with a globally distributed workforce to drive compliance and risk management efforts across the organization, monitor and uphold established processes and policies, and contribute to the expansion of the GRC function at Mattermost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and advance the Governance, Risk, and Compliance function within Mattermost.
  • Oversee and enforce security and privacy policies and training initiatives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Enhance privacy and security risk management programs throughout the organization.
  • Engage with internal and external partners to conduct compliance audits.
  • Deliver insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to compliance programs and security risks.
  • Administer the third-party risk management process for external vendors.
  • Address customer and prospect security inquiries and requests.
  • Handle requests in accordance with GDPR/CCPA and other relevant privacy regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in security risk management, information security, or related GRC fields.
  • Hands-on experience with security or risk management standards such as SOC2, ISO27001, FedRAMP, CMMC, or NIST CSF.
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess security requirements and correlate them with suitable security controls.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects across various teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ensuring compliance with applicable privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with public sector compliance requirements.
