About the Role
The Government of Alberta is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the Animal Health and Assurance team. As a key member of the Primary Agriculture Division, you will provide strategic leadership on animal health, welfare, and associated programs and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership on animal health, welfare, and associated programs and services
- Collaborate with divisional leadership team, federal and provincial partners, and industry to deliver strong programs
- Represent the Ministry and province on federal, provincial, and territorial initiatives and working groups
- Lead a senior management team consisting of the Inspection and Investigation Section, Animal Health, and the Office of the Chief Provincial Veterinarian (OCPV)
Qualifications
You will bring extensive senior management experience with a diverse background in agriculture, animal health, and welfare. You have a proven ability to consult and negotiate solutions with diverse partners and stakeholders. Your strong political acumen and excellent communication skills enable you to facilitate collaborative partnerships to resolve sensitive and complex policy and scientific issues.
