About the Role
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the Animal Health and Assurance team. As a key member of the Agriculture and Irrigation ministry, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership on animal health, welfare, and associated programs and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership on animal health, welfare, and associated programs and services
- Collaborate with divisional leadership team, federal and provincial partners, and industry to deliver strong programs
- Develop and implement policies and programs to ensure animal health and welfare
- Manage financial and human resources to achieve team goals
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve ministry objectives
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive senior management experience in agriculture, animal health, and welfare
- Demonstrated expertise in policy, program, and legislation development
- Proven ability to consult and negotiate solutions with diverse partners and stakeholders
- Strong political acumen and excellent communication skills
- Experience managing financial and human resources
What We Offer
The Government of Alberta offers a competitive salary range of $5,082.46 - $6,679.30 bi-weekly ($132,652.21 - $174,329.73 year) and a comprehensive benefits package.
