Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the Toromont Material Handling team, the Logistics Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the management of parts inventory, emergency procurement, and branch stock levels. Reporting directly to the Parts and Warehouse Manager, this position is integral to maintaining efficient supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor and analyze stock levels across the branch network, ensuring timely processing of orders to suppliers.
  • Handle daily emergency orders from customers, sourcing products from internal inventory when necessary.
  • Provide estimated time of arrival (ETA) for back-ordered items and explore alternative supply options.
  • Maintain accurate parts pricing records in the database system, including managing vendor price changes and resolving pricing disputes.
  • Oversee the return of surplus inventory to vendors on a quarterly or semiannual basis, ensuring accounts receivable records are current.
  • Minimize inventory obsolescence through effective inventory management strategies, including scrapping outdated stock or redistributing among branches.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Receivable to ensure timely payment of invoices and manage ongoing purchase order disputes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A background of 2 to 4 years in parts administration or inventory control, complemented by relevant post-secondary education or a college diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel being essential for this role.
  • The capability to efficiently place purchase orders and maintain an organized supply inventory and pricing database.
  • A detail-oriented approach, with strong punctuality and responsibility.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating politeness and professionalism when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
