Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals provides comprehensive support and expert care from the moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment, and beyond. As part of the Psychosocial Services team, the Clinical Psychologist II plays a vital role in delivering clinical care focused on assessment, treatment, and consultation for complex medical conditions related to cancer and its treatments.

In this position, you will offer specialized psychological interventions in various formats, including individual, couples/family, and group settings. Services are provided both in-person and through virtual health technology, ensuring accessibility for cancer patients in Southern Alberta. You will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and multidisciplinary health teams to address the psychosocial needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced clinical services, including psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention.
  • Provide consultation and education to interprofessional teams and patients/families.
  • Lead and coordinate clinical initiatives within assigned program areas.
  • Engage in program, policy, and procedure development, as well as quality improvement and research activities.
  • Supervise doctoral psychology residents, master's level interns, and provisional psychologists.

Required Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program is essential. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Candidates must be active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of three years of experience providing psychological services to adults, particularly those diagnosed with various cancers. Experience in trauma intervention and palliative care is highly valued. Additionally, familiarity with conducting research in clinical health settings and providing supervision to advanced trainees is preferred.
