About the Role:

The Clinical Psychologist will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team at Alberta Health Services to provide high-quality mental health services to neurodiverse children and their families. This role requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed, developmental, and patient-centered care models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct formal assessments (psychoeducational, developmental, and/or psychological) to inform treatment plans
  • Provide psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention, and promotion services
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to plan and implement services that align with best practices and ethical standards
  • Provide supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists, and/or masters-level psychology students
  • Contribute to program, policy, and procedure development, and participate in formal research initiatives

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
  • At least two years of experience as a psychologist in mental health, including neurodiverse children
  • At least two years of experience with formal assessment (psychoeducational, developmental, and/or psychological) including neurodiverse children
  • Brain Story and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of child development, assessment, and treatment, family therapy, group therapy, and case management in mental health care of youth
  • Knowledge of family-based interventions and strategies in treating children with mental health challenges
  • Experience providing mental health services independently in the context of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience supervising and providing direction to students and/or unregulated multidisciplinary team members
