About the Role

The Director, Carbon Management Technologies will direct CanmetENERGY-Ottawa's activities in enhancing energy efficiency and reducing environmental footprints, particularly in the area of greenhouse gas emissions. This role will mobilize national and international partners, clients, and stakeholders to work together to find integrated, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish unique R&D capabilities and an up-to-date knowledge base within the federal government.
  • Coordinate Canada's R&D efforts with national and international bodies to address global climate change issues related to carbon-intensive industries.
  • Expedite energy technology commercialization for domestic and export markets.
  • Ensure the group's administration is conducted in accordance with CanmetENERGY-Ottawa's commitment to organizational excellence.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in a field related to the natural sciences and experience leading R&D projects, including proposal preparation, resource allocation, budget, and project management. Additionally, the candidate should have experience supervising a multi-disciplinary team and using and developing partnerships or networks to leverage resources.
