Role Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Superintendent and play a pivotal role in the management and reliability of plant assets, ensuring the safe production of pulp. The responsibilities outlined below are indicative and may be adjusted to include additional tasks as deemed necessary by management.

  • Electrical Engineering: Lead capital and maintenance projects.
  • Asset Management: Contribute to the planning and ongoing maintenance of asset life cycles.
  • Standards Maintenance: Uphold plant standards for electrical systems.
  • Project Execution: Oversee all aspects of electrical and instrumentation change management, including work orders, planning, design, scoping, construction supervision, commissioning, and project completion.

  • Proven track record in executing electrical and instrumentation projects, encompassing design, specification, contracting, installation, commissioning, and operations/maintenance turnover.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, across all organizational levels.
  • Robust problem-solving and technical capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in an industrial setting, particularly with variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control centers (MCCs), and distributed control systems (DCS).
  • Familiarity with various electrical systems ranging from 600V to 13.8kV.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in an operational plant environment, with a preference for pulp mill experience.
