Mission

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for transportation electrification and sustainable energy? This role presents an opportunity to engage with a dynamic and expanding team, utilizing your expertise in technical skills and project execution across diverse scopes.

The successful candidate will be positioned in our Ottawa office, where they will lead, design, and implement projects with support from various CIMA disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor the local engineering team, assisting in the assembly of deliverable packages for various delivery models
  • Manage and contribute to technical designs related to renewable energy (Solar, BESS, Micro-grid) and electrification projects for fleets and personal vehicles across Canada
  • Implement best practices and identify innovative solutions while conducting engineering analyses, studies, designs, and construction oversight
  • Engage with clients, local utilities, project team members, and other stakeholders regarding project specifications
  • Lead and participate in client technical meetings
  • Conduct site visits for assessments, investigations, and inspections
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality
  • Participate in proposal development
  • Facilitate training and knowledge transfer follow-ups
  • Proficient in software such as PVsyst and AutoCAD
  • Respond to RFPs, prepare proposals, and support business development initiatives

Minimum Requirements

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in Canada
  • Over 10 years of experience, including 5 years of relevant experience in transportation electrification, renewable energy, mining, manufacturing, or building electricity
  • Strong interpersonal skills that promote teamwork, excellent technical writing abilities for studies and reports, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Enthusiastic about Energy Transition and Renewable Energy Technologies
  • Familiarity with policies, standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations relevant to North American energy markets is advantageous
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
