Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Labour Relations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in fostering positive relationships between VON Canada and its employees represented by various labour organizations. You will be responsible for all aspects of collective bargaining, contract administration, and interpretation, ensuring compliance with provincial labour regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead collective bargaining negotiations with unions, advocating for the interests of VON Canada while maintaining a collaborative approach.
  • Administer and interpret collective agreements, providing guidance to management and employees on contractual obligations and rights.
  • Investigate and resolve employee grievances and labour relations issues in a timely and fair manner.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to labour relations, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and organizational goals.
  • Stay abreast of changes in provincial labour legislation and best practices, providing recommendations for policy updates and training initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading collective bargaining negotiations and administering collective agreements.
  • In-depth knowledge of provincial labour regulations, worker compensation legislation, and various labour organizations.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and applicable laws and regulations.
