The Laboratory Support Specialist will operate under the guidance of management to assist all personnel in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department. This role encompasses a variety of tasks related to specimen management, data processing, and client interaction. Responsibilities may include specimen preparation, media formulation, administrative duties, and troubleshooting issues. Ensuring accurate patient identification and proper specimen handling is essential. The Specialist must follow safety regulations and exhibit meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications- Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant Program
- Successful passing of CSMLS examinations with active registration
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology
- Manual dexterity and precision in executing tasks
- Capacity to adapt to procedural changes and utilize fundamental computer skills
- Proficiency in French and additional languages is advantageous
This is a Full-Time role offering benefits that include health, dental, and life insurance. The hourly wage is $26.27. Candidates should possess reliable transportation as travel may be necessary.
