Job Summary

Thoar Mining Management Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of underground mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Service, maintain, and repair underground mechanical systems and equipment, including mining machines such as Alpine AM50, Drumcutter, Flexiveyor, Low Pro Miner, Scoops, skid steer, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Record Keeping and Data Analysis: Maintain and support equipment records and repair history, and provide data for cause and failure analysis.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate and manage cohesive alignment with other departments in the mine to ensure smooth operations.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Take part in planning and scheduling within work systems to ensure efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Training: Saskatchewan Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification, preferably a Red Seal Journeyperson, and valid GMSA - General Mine Safety Awareness training.
  • Experience and Skills: A minimum of 5 years underground work experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience with underground equipment.
  • Education and Certifications: Valid First Aid/CPR certificates, valid WHMIS and SCOT, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
