Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a talented and passionate Look Development Artist to contribute to our team of visual effects experts.

As a Look Development Artist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual aesthetic of our productions. You will collaborate closely with texture artists, lighting specialists, and other members of the production pipeline to ensure that every asset meets the highest standards of realism and artistic vision.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with texture artists to develop high-quality texture maps for a wide range of assets, including creatures, props, and environments.
  • Utilize your expertise in shader development to modify parameters and achieve the desired visual effects for each asset.
  • Contribute to the creation of lighting setups that enhance the overall look and feel of scenes.
  • Work effectively within a team environment to ensure seamless integration of assets into the final production pipeline.
  • Proactively identify and propose creative solutions to overcome technical challenges and achieve optimal visual results.
Requirements:
  • A strong foundation in both technical and artistic principles, with a proven track record of success in the field of visual effects.
  • Extensive experience working with industry-standard software such as Arnold and Katana is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Nuke is a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems and scripting languages, including MEL, Perl, and Python.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in production environments.
