About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Visual Effects Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts Inc. as a key member of our Visual Effects team. As a Senior Visual Effects Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual effects that immerse players in the gaming experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Visual Effects Artists to create industry-leading visual effects for our games.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors and Producers to understand project requirements and create visual effects that meet the desired quality standards.
  • Conceptualize and create behavior-driven visual effects for characters and environments.
  • Develop and implement new techniques, tools, and workflows to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate artists to help them grow in their careers.
  • Work with the Rendering and Tools teams to determine requirements for visual effects tools and develop strategies to solve FX issues affecting rendering performance.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as a Real-Time FX artist on shipped titles.
  • Proficient in industry-leading DCC tools such as Maya, Houdini, and Photoshop or any equivalent.
  • Experience with performance requirements and restrictions on console hardware.
  • Experience creating and editing shaders for visual effects.
  • Experience creating and modifying existing modeling assets for in-game visual effects use.
  • Experience with scripting languages and shader authoring (HLSL).
Portfolio Requirements
  • Examples of visual effects that demonstrate an understanding of physics, color theory, composition, and animation principles.
  • Examples of visual effects that showcase your ability to create industry-leading visual effects from start to finish.
