Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Visual Effects Artist II to join our team at Electronic Arts (EA). As a key member of our VFX team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual effects for our games, including The Sims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create stylized interpretations of real-world visual effects within the confines of engine memory and performance constraints.
  • Collaborate with the VFX team, Direction, and other cross-discipline partners to achieve the project's aesthetic vision.
  • Contribute to the design and technical implementation of VFX from brainstorming through testing and bug fixing.
  • Assist with defining and setting priorities, contributing creative solutions to technical challenges, and inspiring others through knowledge sharing and documentation.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a VFX Artist contributing to all phases of production on a title.
  • Experience creating advanced visual effects using particles, static and animated textures, lights, post processing, materials, meshes, and shaders.
  • Experience developing visual language across an ecosystem of effects, and working with engine lighting, post effects, and physically based shading models.
  • Experience with physics-based animation, impact interactions, destruction, and water.
  • Experience creating 3D assets, materials, and hand-painted textures in other packages (e.g. Photoshop, After Effects).
  • Technical comprehension in relation to visual scripting environments such as Unreal Engine's Niagara & Blueprints, Unity's VFX Graph.
  • Experience using GPU profiling tools such as PIX or GPAD.
  • Working knowledge of creating shaders within a Unity or Unreal shader graph.
What We Offer
  • Base salary ranges: $89,300 - $123,000 CAN Annually (dependent on location).
  • A package of benefits including vacation, sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plan.
  • Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
