A Technical Artist's primary responsibility is to enhance the efficiency of the artists' daily operations. This includes identifying and resolving issues as they arise, assisting in the development of advanced VFX pipeline solutions, and creating necessary software tools for the team. Proficiency in writing plugins and scripts for DCC packages is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of the VFX production pipeline.

  • Engage in research and development with supervisors to create new Python tools and workflows while enhancing existing ones.
  • Collaborate with other Technical Directors and Leads/Supervisors to strengthen the pipeline.
  • Maintain and enhance documentation practices.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Artist Technical Director.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the VFX pipeline or a related industry.
  • Strong comprehension of the VFX production pipeline.
  • Proven capability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
  • Expertise in Python and Mel scripting.
  • Familiarity with Shotgun Desktop and Shotgrid.
  • Advanced knowledge of Maya.
  • Experience with 3D Equalizer, Syntheyes, and Nuke is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
