Job Summary:

BURNCO LLC is seeking a seasoned Health, Safety and Environment Manager to lead the development and implementation of our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs across all Canadian site locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSE programs and policies that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure HSE standards are met and provide visibility and direction on site.
  • Participate in Accident and Incident Investigations and provide recommendations for effective incident reduction strategies.
  • Develop and deliver training courses and materials for operations staff to enhance their HSE knowledge and skills.
  • Prepare reports, statistics, charts, and presentation materials to support HSE initiatives and compliance.
  • Participate in auditing activities required for the annual Certificate of Recognition (COR) program and ensure COR compliance.
  • Represent BURNCO on industry associations and committees as required.

Requirements:

  • University degree or technical diploma in HSE or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in HSE and 5 years in the construction or oil and gas industry.
  • Designations as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) and Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) auditor or ability to acquire within 1 year.
  • Strong leadership skills with a cooperative and helpful attitude towards colleagues.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to conduct business in an ethical manner and build relationships based on collaboration, honesty, and respect.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
