Fraud Operations Lead

We are seeking a Fraud Operations Lead to oversee our fraud team and develop strategies and protocols that safeguard our customers and uphold the integrity of our offerings. At Shakepay, our goal is to lead the Bitcoin revolution, navigating the challenges that require our fraud team to innovate and adapt to increasingly complex threats.

Your Responsibilities
  • Recruit and develop our exceptional fraud and KYC teams, serving as both a cultural and strategic leader while managing daily operations.
  • Challenge conventional methods by designing, implementing, and managing innovative fraud prevention and detection strategies.
  • Assist in the integration of new fraud prevention vendors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate and execute a comprehensive risk strategy that aligns with Shakepay's goals and addresses current challenges.
  • Establish, revise, and enforce fraud and KYC policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current.
  • Steer the strategic direction of our KYC and KYB initiatives, including their implementation and oversight.
  • Work closely with AML, KYC, and support teams to ensure a positive customer experience while maintaining compliance.
  • Identify and implement scalable solutions that can be applied organization-wide as Shakepay grows, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor risk performance and the success of our initiatives, assisting in the development and prioritization of long-term strategic plans for growth.
  • Stay informed about fraud trends and industry standards in the cryptocurrency sector through independent research and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee and audit investigations to guarantee thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations.
  • 2+ years of experience in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of fraud mitigation strategies, both preventive and reactive, including first-party and third-party fraud.
  • Experience with KYC and KYB onboarding processes in the financial services sector, particularly within crypto companies and money service businesses.
  • Adept at understanding the broader picture while managing daily operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of blockchain transactions and Bitcoin.
  • Confidence in identifying and prioritizing problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Experience managing risk with Alloy.
  • Formal education in forensic accounting, finance, criminology, or data science.
  • CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) and/or ACAMS certification is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python.
