Medical Imaging Booking Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Imaging Booking Coordinator to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating medical imaging appointments, ensuring seamless communication with patients, physicians, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and book medical imaging appointments in accordance with established priority levels and medical/technical staff schedules.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, and staff to confirm appointments and relay instructions.
- Screen patients for contraindications and follow up with referring physicians for requisitions not yet received.
- Arrange daycare beds for various procedures, including emergency appointments, and reschedule appointments when notified daycare beds are not available.
- Pre-register daycare patients, obtaining patient information and entering it into the computerized patient database.
- Locate relevant patient information, such as images/films and consultation histories, and process patient data by receiving applicable documentation and completing requisitions/forms according to information provided.
- Enter booking and image/film information into the applicable computerized and/or manual booking system.
- Register patients by obtaining essential or changed information from patients and/or patient documentation.
- Maintain requisitions for all inpatient/outpatient bookings and provide patient waiting list information to supervisors.
- Grade 12, two years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
