Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Imaging Booking Coordinator to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking appointments for patients undergoing medical imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and book appointments for patients undergoing medical imaging procedures, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and accurate.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to confirm appointments and relay instructions.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of patient appointments, including scheduling and cancellations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring that their needs are met and concerns are addressed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements
- Grade 12, two years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments, including Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan, and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study.
