Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Imaging Booking Coordinator to join our team at PHSA. As a Medical Imaging Booking Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating medical imaging appointments for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate medical imaging appointments for patients, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and accurate.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to confirm appointments and provide instructions.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of patient appointments, including scheduling and cancellations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in medical imaging procedures and protocols, ensuring that all scheduling and coordination activities are aligned with current best practices.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, two years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in foundational documents, including Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan, and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study.
