Medical Imaging Booking Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Imaging Booking Clerk at BC Children's Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking appointments for patients undergoing medical imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and book appointments for patients in accordance with established priority levels and medical/technical staff schedules.
- Coordinate with patients, units, and physician offices to confirm appointments and relay instructions.
- Screen patients for contraindications and follow up with referring physicians for requisitions not yet received.
- Arrange daycare beds for procedures and reschedule appointments as needed.
- Pre-register daycare patients and enter relevant information into the computerized patient database.
- Locate patient information and process data by receiving documentation and completing requisitions.
- Enter booking and image/film information into the applicable computerized and/or manual booking system.
- Register patients and maintain requisitions for all inpatient/outpatient bookings.
- Provide patient waiting list information to supervisors and maintain accurate records.
- Grade 12 and two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate related equipment and maintain accurate records.
