Position Overview

The Environmental Services Support Specialist is tasked with ensuring a hygienic and secure atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff, alongside managing waste and providing assistance to the hospital in accordance with the goals and principles of Environmental Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.
  • Handle waste management effectively.
  • Utilize and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies proficiently.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols while performing duties.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is essential.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital cleaning role is preferred.
  • Experience in floor refinishing and carpet cleaning is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Ability to work independently while following established policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying departmental needs is necessary.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and storage practices is important.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a disciplined work ethic.
  • Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, pushing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Proven track record of reliable attendance and work performance.
